Despite the ill effects of smoking, people are addicted to smoking. Teenagers get influenced by their peers of featured high ranking models or philosophers smoking in public in ceremonies. Smoking and then the chain smoking may develop initially stained teeth, yellow fingers and before you know may lead you to lung cancer or heart disease. Scientists have established a strong relationship, as early as in 1920s, between cigarette smoking and lung cancer.
Parental smoking induces the habit of smoking in children. Simple text advice is not as strong and effective as compared to the pictorial health warning primarily through video or advertisements. The smoke is harmful and the Nicotine in the cigarette causes cancer not only to smokers but also to the passive smokers too. Really it is ironical that despite these facts known to every smoker, the smoking habit is not given up which is not easy also. The government measures of raising the cigarette’s price every year are no discouragement to the smokers. Smoking habits can only be left with strong will power.
An Electronic cigarette, powered by a battery, is an alternative tobacco smoking device to inhale the doses of nicotine by vaporizing vegetable glycerin or propylene glycol/nicotine solution, you can find some of the best e-cigarettes on our homepage. There are countless different electronic cigarette legislation’s and public health investigations currently pending in many countries. Some country’s have already deemed the e cigarettes a health risk and have made the sale of electronic cigarettes that contain nicotine to be illegal.
There are currently several countries that are withholding the sale of electronic cigarettes containing nicotine. Australia has already informed the public that e cigarettes are illegal. Same goes for Singapore, where the sale and import of all types of e cigarettes has been marked illegal. Many countries seem to have jumped the gun on this decision, which makes me wonder why? What are they afraid of? Many countries have completely legalized e cigarettes, deeming them safe enough for the public.
New Zealand is a perfect example. Their ministry of health has said that the Ruyan e-cigarette properly falls in the Medicines Act requirements. The one exception is that the e-cigarettes cannot be sold by anyone but a full registered medicine. They also note that since it’s not technically a product of tobacco, businesses are able to advertise it. I lived in New Zealand for almost a year, and can wholeheartedly say that this country has it’s head on straight. They’re no crazy country with a left wing or right wing agenda. They are very similar to Canada in that they are normally so influenced by the Elephant next door, in New Zealand’s case it’s Australia, in Canada it’s the United States of America. New Zealand has always been ahead of the times, they were also one of the first countries to implement a fully working 3G cell phone network. I have faith that their researchers did all the proper testing, and if they’re able to find it legal, what’s stopping so many other countries from preventing the sale of e cigarettes?
Other notable countries where the E cigarettes are completely legal are the Netherlands, the UK, where they are currently set as “unrestricted”. As of November ‘09, the use of all electronic cigarettes is unrestricted. However many business owners have began getting their imports seized. The FDA has yet to approve them, but has warned consumers there is a risk to smoking them.
The one thing that irritates me is that many countries are saying “yea, sure, go for it!”. While on the other hand we have several other countries banning all sales, imports, and advertising of the products. We’re not smoking meth here people, we’re trying to quit smoking tobacco. That should be in our realm of freedom.
